Evaluating the Design and Implementation of E-Government in Southeast Asian Developing Countries Using Actor Network Theory

چکیده
E-government is a promising technological innovation to improve government performance in developing countries. The potential benefits of e-government include less corruption, increased transparency, greater convenience, revenue growth, and cost reduction. However, most egovernment projects failed because of its complexity and its inherent political process. Meanwhile as young fields e-government lacks a strong body of well-developed theory. To cope with this theoretical immaturity, many researches adopt theory from other fields. This proposal briefly describes a study to use Actor Network Theory (ANT) to evaluate the design and implementation of e-government in developing countries. ANT was chosen for its rich vocabulary and its comprehensive framework in representing the nature and complexity of e-government as information systems. Using interpretive approach, the study aims to evaluate whether ANT perspective significantly produces both practical and theoretical insight to the design and implementation of e-government.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of the development of financial markets and tax revenues on economic growth in Southeast Asian countries using data from the period 1980-1980. For this purpose, a supply-oriented endogenous growth pattern and due to the nonlinear relationship between the research variables, the PSTR model has been used. In this study, three indicators of fi...
متن کاملThe Symbiosis of Human and Semantic Technology Through the Lens of Actor-Network Theory
Background: Semantic technologies (STs) have made machine reasoning possible by providing intelligent data management methods. This capability has created new forms of interaction between humans and STs, which is called "semantic interaction." The increasing spread of this form of interaction in daily life reveals the need to identify the factors affecting it and introduce the requirements of...
متن کاملUsing Actor-Network Theory to Analyze E-Government Implementation in Developing Countries
The implementation issues leading to successful application of information and communication technologies (ICT) is a well-researched area in the information systems literature. But there is little research work of this nature that is theoretically based and undertaken in the aeld of development informatics/ICT4D. Within this aeld, an important focus for any theoretically based study could be su...

Since 2008, the government of South Australia has been using a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach to achieve their strategic plan (South Australia Strategic Plan of 2004). In this commentary, we summarize some of the strengths and contributions of the innovative evaluation framework that was developed by an embedded team of academic researchers. To inform how the use of HiAP is evaluated mo...
